Canada High School Stay

Although Canada has just 35 million inhabitants, the country is the second largest on earth. Due to its extensive size, Canada offers many different landscapes and environments. From beautiful coasts, to busy cities, and crystal-clear lakes, Canada truly has something for everyone. One of Canada's main characteristics is its multicultural nature. Its time under the French and British powers deeply influenced the country's culture, a culture that also shows traces of Irish, German, and Eastern European influence. The majority of the population is concentrated in the country's big metropolises of Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, and Ottawa. Canada's Indigenous population, which amounts to around 780,000 people, lives predominantly in the south, in the forested areas in the north, and partly on the Arctic islands.

The Canadian school year is divided in 3 semesters: Fall (end of August/start of September to December/January), Winter (January to April) and Summer (April/May to July). You have the options to choose between:

A 3 to 9 months stay is only possible in some school districts. Departure time can also vary. The start of the school year in Canada is always one day after "Labor Day", a public holiday which falls on the first Monday of September. Keep in mind that flights depend on the school district, with you flying either at the end of August or the beginning of September.
