Gap Year in Calabria

Cliffs and rocky coasts, romantic bays, ever clear water and the southern Italian flair make learning Italian a very relaxing and enjoyable experience. Spending a Gap Year or sabbatical abroad under the sun of Calabria will enable you to immerse yourself in your surroundings as well as your course. You can decide for how long you would like to stay in Italy. You can stay in our language school for up to 12 months. Before your course begins you will be asked to take a placement test so that we can determine which language course level would be appropriate for your effective learning experience. When your course is finished you will receive a course completion certificate from us.

Our Gap Year courses

During your Gap Year stay you can choose between either a Standard course in which you will have 4 lessons per day or an Intensive course that contains 6 lessons per day. The language course takes place from Mondays to Fridays and every lesson is 45 minutes long. Standard courses usually begins before noon, meaning that you will be free to do as you wish in the afternoons and the entire weekend. Intensive courses take place both before noon and in the afternoon. The table below displays the prices for our Standard and Intensive courses. These courses were first developed for people who have recently graduated from either school, college or university as a Gap Year travel opportunity combined with a language course. They were also set up for people who want to take a sabbatical year abroad in order to gain new experiences including working knowledge of a new language.

Our schools in Calabria is located in a beautiful Villa surrounded by green scenery in the small district of Santa Domenica, which is around 3km south of Tropea. The idyllic surroundings and wonderful view onto the ocean make for a very special educational trip. If you are also a lover of the Italian cuisine, there is a chance for you to take part in an Italian cooking course. One of the highlights of the region is visiting the famous Ghost Towns. These towns and villages are deserted areas within the region that have been abandoned due to people's fear of regional earth quakes.
