The first things everyone associates France with are the Mona Lisa, croissants, and the Eiffel Tower. But La République is so much more than that. France is known for its relaxed attitude and enjoyment of life. Even scenically, one of the largest countries in Europe offers a treat for everyone: beaches, hills, mountains, France has a truly varied landscape. Large parts of the country in the north and center are characterized by gentle hilly landscapes, whereas mountains can be found in the south and east, namely the Pyrenees and the French Alps. France is also home to the highest mountain in Europe, the Mont Blanc, whose surroundings offer endless outdoor activities. In the south, the country enchants with beautiful sandy beaches and seashores on the Côte d'Azur. Of course, when in France one simply cannot miss a visit to Paris. The countless museums, restaurants, bars, events, and landmarks offer unlimited entertainment and wonder.

Your French stay
The French school system is divided into two semesters/school terms. You have the option to choose between:
Three months: January - April or August - November
One school semster: January - June or August - Janurary
One school year: August - June

Frequently Asked Questions about High School in France
You will stay with a previously screened and approved host family. The student's needs and interests will be met as much as possible with those of the host family.
Public schools do not require students to wear uniforms.
Most schools in France are all-day schools, with the school day ending at 5 pm.
Yes, there is an Area Representative on site who can contacted for advice and can be reached in case of an emergency.
Family visits are possible only at the end of the program.
Students usually bring their ski equipment with them, but it can also be rented on site.
Students are not allowed to work during their high school stay.
Public transport is well developed within French cities. Travelling between cities is possible either by bus or train.
Due to insurance reasons, students are not allowed to sign up for driving courses. It is also not allowed to drive motorized vehicles.
Unfortunately, we don't offer private high schools stays in France.
There are no compulsory vaccinations. The standard vaccinations common in Europe (tetanus, measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis A and B, diphtheria, pertussis, polio) are recommended.
France is a very safe country. Nevertheless, we recommend to keep personal valuables either on yourself or in a safe place.
