Hesse

This region covers the central southern part of Germany and although its capital is Wiesbaden, an important spa centre, the most important city is Frankfurt, a world-class economic metropolis. The headquarters for the European Central Bank and the German Federal Bank are found in this city. Its exhibition site is one of the most important in the whole of Europe and its airport has the heaviest volume of trade goods traffic on the European continent, and the second heaviest passenger flow. Most of the interesting places for sightseeing are found near an area once protected by walls and which is now an enclosed semicircle of parks and gardens. This is also where Römerberg , the old quarter of the city, lies.Sprachcaffe has one of its language teaching schools in Frankfurt.

Labelled "a tangled and picturesque series of landscapes and mountains", Hesse has volcanic regions, vineyards, wild areas as well as cultivated regions. Some of its most interesting cities besides Frankfurt and Wiesbaden, include Fulda -an Episcopal area with distinct baroque style architecture-, Marburg, Giessen, Bergstrasse and Rheingau, the two latter being important winemaking centres of the region.
