Not in a Debbie Does Dallas kind of way. More in the sense that I blog and vlog all things language, and teach English, French and Spanish via Skype. . I began learning French at primary school, mainly because they gave us croissants at the end of term. It wasn’t until I was 13 that I decided to take on another language – Spanish, in an attempt to translate Shakira. Spanish was the first language that truly ignited my passion and since then I’ve studied Italian, Mandarin, German, Dutch and Portuguese to varying levels. Oh yes, and now I’m trying my hand at Japanese! I currently have one year left of Spanish to complete my Open University degree in Modern Language Studies. MY TIPS & TRICKS FOR:  vocabulary learning  Memrise, Anki  picking stuff that is useful to you – not just because you feel like you should know stuff!  learning grammar Find way that means YOU enjoy it – if that’s a grammar book, do it; if that’s funny videos explaining it, do it!  speaking Italki. Hands down!  reading Read EVERYTHING! TV guides, books, leaflets, websites, everything…! MOST EFFECTIVE LEARNING LANGUAGES METHOD IS: A mixture of various methods that all combine to keep you inspired. Oh yes, and a smile on your face helps too.
