SCHOOL SYSTEM The Australian school year starts at the end of January and ends in mid December. It consists of four terms: Term 1: End of January – Early/Mid April Term 2: Mid April – End of June Term 3: Beginning of July – End of September Term 4: Beginning of October – Early/Mid December The duration of your stay can be from one Term which is usually three months until four Terms. We recommend starting in Janua- ry as this is not just the beginning of Australia’s summer but also the beginning of the school year. SUPERVISION Most of the Australian schools have their own International Coor- dinator who is looking solely after the international students and who helps with the composition of your timetable. When having a problem our colleagues onsite, the Coordinator at the school as well as we will help you out. HOST FAMILY You live in a host family that will be chosen and carefully ap- proved by our colleagues onsite. Sometimes two international students live in one host family but they won’t have the same mother tongue.
