Tourism in London
London is the capital city of England and the United Kingdom. London is one of the world's most important business and financial centres,and it influences world politics, education, entertainment, media and fashion. London has one of the most extensive transportation systems in the world.

  • London Ealing

For the nature-lovers, London Ealing is an idyllic natural wonderland with a wide array of natural parks and a variety of botanical gardens.

  • British Museum

The British Museum offers an enormous collection of antiques and artifacts from around the world, with app. 100 galleries of art. Admission is free to all art enthusiasts!

  • Buckingham Palace

The Buckingham Palace has been the official residence of the English Royal Family since 1837. This famous building has its doors open to visitors too so don't miss its fine art collection.

  • Royal Albert Hall

Since its opening by Queen Victoria in 1871, the Royal Albert Hall has played host to various cultural events such as classical and rock concerts, conferences, ballroom dancing, ballet, opera and even a circus.

Geography and Climate
The climate in London is moderate and quite comfortable throughout most of the year. During the winter the temperatures descend down to 6°C. In the spring and the autumn, the temperatures reach 11/15°C. In summer, temperatures usually exceed 20°C during the hottest month - July.

Culture in London

London is an international centre of culture in terms of arts, music, festivals, museums and much more. The city is a home to more than 300 nationalities that have molded and shaped the city's culture into what it is today.

The English are famous for staying at their favorite pubs after work and late into the evening, especially if the local football team is playing. A hip, thriving music scene, a lively artistic environment, and a bustling financial centre - London has it all!

Also, enjoy the local favorite, Fish and Chips, or some of the other popular dishes such as Bangers and Mash, and Shepherd's Pie!

Sports in London

London is the first city in the world to host the Summer Olympics three times - next one is in 2012!

Still without a doubt, the most popular sport is football (soccer) and London has several leading football clubs such as Arsenal, Chelsea.

Rugby, cricket and polo come close to it with huge teams of fans and followers every week.

Shopping in London
London is one of the "big four" fashion capitals (alongside Paris, New York and Milan) and is a home to some of the finest haute couture in the world. Burberry, Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen, John Galliano and Stella McCartney are all famous London designers.

London Fashion Week takes place twice a year.  Some of the world's most renowned department stores are based in London including Harrods, Selfridges and Harvey Nichols.
