Paris Travel Guide - Zoo de Vincennes
Zoo de Vincennes
Known in French as the Parc Zoologique de Paris or the Zoo
de Vincennes, it is the largest public zoo in France. It is
also the country’s national zoo. It was after the French
Revolution that the Zoological Park of Paris was first opened
to the public in general.
It houses 1200 animals of all sorts of species, from giraffes
and elephants to bats and monkeys. During the warm weather,
the animals are kept in outdoor enclosures, while in wintertime
they are moved to heated enclosures inside the zoo’s
buildings.
The zoo is open everyday from 9 am to 5:30 pm in winter and
9 am to 6:30 pm in summer.
A French
Language Course in Paris will give you the chance to experience
the city's wonderful zoo.
