The Thyssen Bornemisza Collection contains many paintings
dating from the 12th to the 18th Centuries and is a collection
begun by the Baron Heinrich Thyssen-Bornemisza (1875-1947).
This collection which was added to by the founder’s
son, features art work from the Middle Ages, the early German
Renaissance Period, the Italian Renaissance Period and the
Baroque Period. Some of the artists whose works form a part
of this collection include Fra Angelico, Bernhard Strigel,
Wolf Huber, Lorenzo Lotto, Tiziano, Tintoretto, Zurbarán,
Velázquez, Rubens, Canaletto and many more.
